Talking to the World

Getting to “talk” or exchange information with another Ham by means of Digital technology is a lot of fun. The Ham Radio community routinely has some sort of on the air radio contest going. Doing the contests help one hone their operating skills and also helps one learn more about how our radio waves propagate the globe. We keep a log of all our contacts and then verify them with the other operator. We can turn in these verified contact information for operating awards. The awards are really nothing more than a way to show how hard you’ve worked at the hobby.

These are just a few of the basic awards I have. Each award has it’s own requirements that have to be met in order to get them. They are a combination of “voice” and “digital” operations.
